From his ground-breaking, BAFTA-nominated score to Vanity Fair, to the RTS Award-winning soundtrack to Queer as Folk, Murray Gold has been the composer of choice when it comes to scoring the most innovative programmes on television. With a CV that includes Torchwood, Casanova, Randall & Hopkirk and the first three series of both Clocking Off and Shameless, Murray is perhaps best-known for his score to the hugely popular Doctor Who. The soundtrack albums are among the best-selling on iTunes and CD and have played a significant part in the successful re-invention of the series.
In film, Murray composed an evocative jazz score to Jez Butterworth’s acclaimed first feature, Mojo, and followed this by providing memorable music scores for UK film productions Heavenly Creatures, Wild About Harry, Miranda, Alien Autopsy, Mischief Night and Death At A Funeral.
Murray is currently based in New York working on projects with the Weinsteins, HBO and MTV including The Devil's Whore starring Dominic West as Oliver Cromwell, and a feature film adaptation of Paulo Coelho's novel Veronika Decides to Die.
